The first song in four years from NZCA Lines – the solo project of Metronomy collaborator Michael Lovett – is the wonderful Pure Luxury.
Having spent a good long time embedded within Joseph Mount’s mind-bogglingly talented Metronomy set-up (including worldwide touring), it would seem Lovett has also been busy creating some typically mesmerising alt-pop of his own, and as with earlier NZCA Lines material, it manages to sound both retro and futuristic all at the same time.
We adore this, and hope there is much more to come in a similar vein.
